I want to take a minute to thank everyone who supported me during my leukemia journey. It’s been almost 8 years. On December 20, 2016, I was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), and I started my treatment on January 1, 2017, at MD Anderson. If it wasn’t for my family, my colleagues, close friends, and especially Holly Groves, I don’t know what I would have done. Holly went with me to all of my doctor's appointments, and she was my advocate! I am so grateful for YOU, dear friend.
I deeply appreciate all of your help. I didn’t know what an extremely difficult journey this would be for me to fight this battle, through taking two TKI treatments, dealing with my stroke, the side effects, and seeing all those damn doctors every month was way too much for me!
Thank you to my sister Lisa for attending all my holistic appointments and journeys, and my brother Ed. I don’t think everyone knows he lost his job. He was laid off, and he stepped up and became my caretaker. I am extremely thankful for him and everyone of you. All the get-well cards, phone calls from Pennoni, and emails that just checked in with me gave me the strength to FIGHT! My co-workers just asked if I was okay; it was deeply appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! The big guy in heaven is watching over me, and I'm feeling blessed!
