A person in a blue three‑piece suit stands outdoors in front of green trees, dressed formally as if for a special event. This image could be used in materials highlighting the strength and resilience of people affected by blood cancer.

I first got in contact with Blood Cancer United when I was featured on a podcast on TheBloodLine.org. I was on there because of my cancer diagnosis, my stem cell transplant, and how it hit me in the prime of my career. I recently published a memoir that discusses the specific procedures I endured, the COVID-19 challenges, the mindset battle, and the support system from friends, along with trying to live life after surviving something like that.

I had chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in 2019, and then it moved to acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in the brain in 2021. I underwent a full stem cell transplant at Mass General Health in Boston, and I'm currently four years cancer-free.
