When my husband, Farris, was diagnosed in 2000 with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), he enrolled in the Blood Cancer United-funded clinical trial for Gleevec. Shortly after, we became regularly involved in Light The Night (LTN); Farris was an honored patient in 2015. I did the Disney marathon in 2004, we did a hike in 2016, Farris ran the Disney marathon in 2020, and we completed the New York City half marathon in 2024, all as a part of Team In Training (TNT). We're excited to return to Disney in 2027, now running the half together. As Farris' wife (and a physician myself), I have been thankful for Blood Cancer United and the research they support and have enjoyed fundraising through LTN and TNT over the years!
