Blood cancer survivor standing outdoors beside a lake holding colorful balloons during a celebration or milestone event. The image highlights resilience, hope, and life beyond a blood cancer diagnosis, representing the strength of people affected by leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other blood cancers. The scenic outdoor setting and vibrant balloons symbolize survivorship, community support, and meaningful moments made possible through blood cancer treatment, advocacy, and care.

I'm a two-time cancer survivor. The first time I was diagnosed with cancer was in 2010. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and ended up having my thyroid removed. The second time I was diagnosed was in 2014, four years later. I was told that I have chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).

I was touched by the work of Blood Cancer United when I received financial assistance; it really helped a lot. I have also shared my story with other organizations. Sharing my story has helped me cope with having cancer because it helped me deal with feeling alone and sad. I hope that my story can be of help to others.
