I have a history of cancer. In 2007, I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer and lung cancer. I went through oral chemotherapy, radiation, and then surgery to remove the rectum and middle lobe of my right lung. I survived that first encounter.
Then, 10 years later, in 2017, I was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). I underwent chemo and immunotherapy infusions. I then went into remission until it reared its head again in 2019. Then I had another chemo drug and immunotherapy infusions again and went into remission. Then in 2024, I was diagnosed with lymphoma again, but this time it was tied with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). I’m currently battling it and taking an oral medication daily to help keep it in check.
The cost of the medication is very expensive, and I have obtained financial help from Blood Cancer United.
