Jackson

Acute myeloid leukemia (AML)

Life for Rachael, Brandon, and Jackson was good. Jackson was a happy and healthy baby. He loved all things trucks, looking at books, helping his dad with projects around the house, and playing with his puppy Remy. In the weeks leading up to his second birthday, Jackson developed a low-grade fever that he just couldn’t shake.

My daughter Bryn was diagnosed at just four years old in April 2024. Our lives were about to be changed forever. Bryn had pre-B-cell leukemia (B-ALL). She was in preschool, dance, music, and gymnastics classes.

We first heard about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) now Blood Cancer United, through my brother-in-law who participated in the Ironman with Team In Training (TNT). He was involved with TNT for a few years before our family was affected by cancer. My father-in-law was diagnosed with multiple myeloma (MM) in 2019.

On April 9, 2024, I lost my loving husband, Dylan, to stage 4 diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). He was only 26 years old — far too young — leaving behind a beautiful son, his parents, two sisters, me, and an entire family who adored him.
