Here are five suggested steps to get started:

1. Check your employer’s giving platform. Most companies use systems like Benevity, YourCause, CyberGrants, or internal HR portals. Search for “workplace giving” or “employee giving” on your intranet.

2. Search for Blood Cancer United.

3. Choose how you want to give: payroll deduction (small ongoing gifts each pay period), one‑time donation, or a match request (if your company matches employee gifts)

4. Submit your gift or match request. Follow the prompts in your portal—usually takes less than five minutes.

5. Ask your HR or CSR team if you’re unsure. They can point you to the right portal or confirm if your company offers matching gifts, volunteer grants, or giving campaigns.

“Workplace giving” is a blanket term that encompasses opportunities for people to get involved with Blood Cancer United through employer-sponsored programs. It makes giving convenient and efficient for employees and creates a magnified philanthropic impact for employers.

Workplace giving can take many forms. Blood Cancer United offers options for employers and employees to support the mission, including matching gifts, payroll deductions, volunteer grants, micro-volunteering, workplace fundraising, and partnerships. In addition, Blood Cancer United participates in three workplace giving campaigns: Community Health Charities (CHC), The Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), and United Way (donor choice). Each campaign is typically an employer-sponsored event that allows the employee to make a commitment via payroll deduction.

These programs benefit everyone—the employee, employer, Blood Cancer United, and ultimately, everyone affected by blood cancer. Employees get a simple and accessible way to give. Employers build a positive company culture. And Blood Cancer United receives funds to support our powerful mission: to cure blood cancer and improve the quality of life of all patients and their families.
