In October 2005, at the age of 45, I was diagnosed with plasma cell leukemia (PCL). My treatment over three years consisted of a lot of chemo, two stem cell transplants, and full body radiation. Everything I read about this disease suggested poor survival rates, one to three years at most. Other sources suggested that no one has survived more than five years. I am at 21 years and going strong. I badly want to tell my story to give others hope, but don't know how.
