Through an engaging, supportive discussion with Jalecia King of Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, we will explore:
- An overview of multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer that is twice as prevalent in Black communities
- Specific barriers that Black patients face in cancer care and how those barriers create racially disproportionate outcomes for patients with myeloma
- Strategies for self-advocacy and ways to protect and empower yourself and your loved ones for better outcomes after a cancer diagnosis
- Trusted resources provided by Blood Cancer United that support patients, families, and caregivers throughout their blood cancer journey.
