Indications and usage

Busulfan is FDA approved in combination with cyclophosphamide as a conditioning regimen prior to allogeneic stem cell transplantation for people who have chronic myeloid leukemia.

Side effects needing medical attention

Fever, chills, or sore throat; unusual bleeding or bruising; cough; joint pain; shortness of breath; swelling of feet or lower legs; black, tarry stools; blood in urine or stool; pinhead-sized red spots on skin; lower back or side pain; painful or difficult urination; sores in mouth and on lips; darkening of the skin; confusion; diarrhea; dizziness; loss of appetite; nausea and vomiting; unusual tiredness; weakness; weight loss.
