Stefani is
Blood Cancer United

I was experiencing a really bad sore throat for at least a month. It would come and go. No meds or steroid shots about the fourth week helped. I attended a breast cancer event at my family’s restaurant. I was feeling bad, literally in tears and in lots of pain. My mother took me to the nearest hospital immediately after. On October 10, 2021, my life as a newly single mom changed forever. I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). I was devastated. My kids can’t live without me. We immediately went straight into intense chemo and attacked this beast. In January 2022, I was declared in remission. Although the road has been tough, I’ve learned so much and will live my life to the fullest. After going through several hospital stays away from my children for the last nine months, on April 3, I completed my last chemo cycle. I’m glad I fought! The day I heard my mom and dad ask what’s my likely chance of surviving, I knew I had to FIGHT with all my might! During my journey, I have adopted the saying, “Girl! You better believe.” I pray to help many young girls and moms like myself to BELIEVE, even when the odds are stacked against you!
