My name is Sara, and I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) while in labor with my first and only child in August 2024. She is healthy and flourishing. We stayed at Sarah Cannon Cancer Center in Nashville, Tennessee, for seven months, and I received a stem cell transplant in December 2024. From all indications, I am healed! God has been so good to me. I was not fearful at all, in that I had the very BEST team taking care of me; they also allowed my baby and mother to stay with me to help with caring for her. My husband came on the weekends and worked during the week. All these details made my healing journey much easier. Last year, my mother and baby walked in the Light The Night (LTN) walk, and this year, in just a few days, we will all be walking in support of all those who are struggling with leukemia.
