In June 2023, I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma (ALL). For about a week before, I knew something was wrong as I had shortness of breath and night sweats. The first five weeks of treatment were spent in the hospital, where I lost a ton of my leg strength. So, when I went home, I was dealing with the chemo side effects as well as trying to regain my strength. Definitely not a good time. Two and a half years of treatment and countless bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures later, I was doing well. In January 2026, I was able to stop treatment. Unfortunately, about a month ago, I had my routine six-month checkup, and they saw something that they weren’t sure of. So, a few weeks later, they did another checkup where it was confirmed that the cancer had come back. I am going back into the hospital next week for treatment again. Although it is scary, I somewhat know what to expect this time, so let’s see! I came across Blood Cancer United's social media pages since I stopped working a week ago and am trying to be a part of it! Thank you.
