My wife was in the thick of her emergency medicine residency when life threw us a curveball — she was unexpectedly diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma (HL). In the middle of 24-hour shifts, parenting our three-year-old, and studying for boards, she now had to face chemotherapy too.

But if you knew her, you wouldn't be surprised that she tackled cancer the same way she does everything else — head-on, with grit, determination, and maybe a little stubbornness. She is the strongest and smartest person I know, and thanks to the incredible care team at GW Hospital, she pushed through months of treatment with unwavering resolve.

Now, she's been cancer-free for over a year. Watching her fight inspired me to take on a challenge of my own, riding in the AMBBR (America’s Most Beautiful Bike Ride) and raising money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). It was grueling, emotional, and more meaningful than I could’ve ever imagined, all for someone I love deeply and for others still in the fight.

This mission continues because cancer doesn't end with remission. We ride, and we hope.
