This year marks my fourth year training and fundraising with Blood Cancer United's Team In Training (TNT) — and this season feels more personal than ever.
I am racing a half Ironman in Chattanooga and running Grandma’s Marathon in June, but these races are about so much more than medals or finish lines. I am training in honor of my mom, Marie, who is currently courageously battling chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
My mom is my hero. She is strength, resilience, faith, and quiet determination wrapped into one incredible woman. The grit I carry into every long run and every hard workout is something I learned from watching her live her life with grace and perseverance. When training gets hard, I think of her. When my legs are tired, I remember she is fighting something far tougher than any race.
Every mile I swim, bike, and run is for her — and for the thousands of families walking this road right now.
I am committed to continuing this fight until we live in a world without blood cancers, and every person battling this disease gets to cross their own finish line to victory.
If you feel led, I would be deeply grateful for your support. Your donation directly funds research, patient support, and hope. No gift is too small — every dollar moves us closer to a cure.
Thank you for standing with my mom. Thank you for standing with our family. And thank you for helping us turn miles into meaning.
