My involvement with Blood Cancer United began long before my own cancer diagnosis.

For more than 10 years, alongside Subaru Retailers, I helped deliver blankets and messages of hope to blood cancer patients through the Subaru Loves to Care partnership. It was a meaningful way to support others facing a difficult journey.

Then, in July 2024, that journey became my own.

I was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), a rare and aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. When I arrived at the John Theurer Cancer Center for my first round of chemotherapy in August 2024, I saw those same messages of hope from local Subaru retailers and customers displayed throughout the lobby. I received my own heart-shaped blanket and carried that encouragement with me through six rounds of treatment.

I'm grateful to share that I achieved remission in December 2024 and was able to return to a more normal pace of life and my work at Subaru of America in January 2025.

Throughout my journey, Blood Cancer United was an invaluable source of support, providing access to grants, information, treatment resources, and a community that understood what I was facing. I am tremendously grateful for the ongoing support of my family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and the Blood Cancer United community.
