The week of Christmas 2023, I realized I wouldn't be spending the holidays in the usual way. I was diagnosed with leukemia. I feared for my life. But I was uplifted by family and friends to push forward. My older brother even turned out to be an exact match for the stem cell transplant. What I talked about is my firsthand experience fighting for my life, but at the same time, being in a state of mind where I can find humor in it.
