In 2022, I was diagnosed with skin cancer, mycosis fungoides with large cell transformation, a form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL). They treated it with a chemo gel. In 2022, I had an 18-wheeler accident. Someone hit me, causing my big rig to flip over. It slid three lanes across the highway, and I had a couple of minor injuries.
In 2024, I passed out one morning in the garage heading to work, breaking my two front top teeth and fracturing my jaw and nose. The skin cancer traveled from my skin and attacked the lymphatic system in my right groin. A large mass grew very quickly. I passed out from having blood clots in both of my lungs. After being in the ICU for nine days, they started radiation and chemotherapy. I had 11 rounds of radiation and six rounds of chemotherapy. I received a stem cell transplant on October 1, 2024, with cells from a 25-year-old male from Germany.
I went for my six-month follow-up in March 2025; the ultrasound and PET scan showed all clear. No cancer, I was in full remission. I’m trying to build up my strength and wind back up. I’m dealing with neuropathy in both my feet from the chemo, but my faith is strong.
