It can be painful to go on living when someone we love dies.

75 years ago, the de Villiers family turned the loss of their son Robbie into this: a relentless, robust, passionate community dedicated to finding a cure and improving the lives of all those affected by blood cancer.

We cannot erase the pain of loss. But we can do something else.

We have been United in Action for 75 years, and 2024 was full of big, bold moves.

From Our President & CEO

An excerpt from his opening letter

Dear Friends,

E. Anders Kolb, MD

2024 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). What started from one family’s loss and grief has become an international powerhouse driving better treatment for all people with blood cancers and improving the quality of life for those impacted by these diseases. LLS has helped fund the vast majority of breakthroughs in blood cancer research in the last 75 years, made possible because of your dedication to our mission and belief in what’s possible when we work together.

For 75 years, LLS has been United in Action, making measurable progress across each of our mission focus areas of research, patient support, and advocacy—drastically improving blood cancer survival rates along the way.

We want everyone with blood cancer to live longer, better lives. With your support, we can’t wait to see how much more we can accomplish in the years ahead!

E. Anders Kolb, MD

Our Giving Promise

At LLS, We Believe...

Giving is Personal.

Contributions don’t come from the wallet—they come from the heart. We respect how deeply our donors feel about what we do and why we do it.

Giving is Community.

A shared passion for change unites us. No matter where we live or who we are, we are together as one for a common cause.

Giving is Good.

Our donors believe in sharing their resources willingly for the good of all, not just themselves.

Giving is Honest.

We are always open about how, why, where, and when we use your contributions.

Giving is Impact.

We strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around us and for those we may never meet.

Thank you for giving. Your generosity makes our work possible, and we promise to uphold your trust in us.
