Description
This webinar will provide an overview of blood cancers. Treatment, side effects, psychosocial and financial impacts of a blood cancer diagnosis will be discussed. The role of social workers, nurses and other members of the healthcare team, along with resources for patient and caregiver education and support will be highlighted.
Target Audience
Oncology social workers, nurses, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of patients with hematologic malignancies.

Social Work Credit Designation
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) Provider Number 1105, is approved as an ACE provider to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. ACE provider approval period: 12/10/2023-12/10/2026. Social workers completing this course receive 1.25 clinical continuing education credits.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is recognized by the New York State Education Departments State Board for Social Work as an approved provider of continuing education for licensed social workers #0117. This webinar, featuring a panel of subject matter experts, addresses the unique challenges faced by adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer as they transition into survivorship, emphasizing interdisciplinary care and long-term support. Resources to support AYAs, their caregivers, and healthcare professionals will also be provided.
Educational Objectives

- Describe care challenges for AYAs as they transition to survivorship
- Explain the importance of survivorship care, including late effects and how to access long-term follow-up guidelines
