Man sitting in chair wrapped in blanket getting IV chemo treatment

In March 2017, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.

This came as a huge shock. I immediately starting thinking about how this might impact my wife and our two young daughters' lives.

I had 2.5 cycles of ABVD and ISRT radiotherapy and have been in remission since August 2017. I couldn't have done it without the support of my family, friends, LLS.org support groups, and even the ice hockey team I had to stop playing with, who sported violet-colored stick and shin guard tape when playing the rest of the season.

Going through this journey has inspired me to become more involved in lymphoma awareness and education. I regularly spend time providing support online to others who have been diagnosed or are going through treatment and have questions. I even completed patient navigator training certifications and run a website that covers cancer support topics.

Being diagnosed with a blood cancer allows inclusion into a terrible group of wonderfully supportive people. I'll always be grateful for everyone's support and am looking to be there for others.
