TAP Partner Allotera Therapeutics Closes $35 Million Financing to Advance Novel CAR-T Therapy for T-cell Cancers

Allotera Therapeutics, formerly Wugen, has announced the closing of a $35 million financing round and unveiled its new company name, reflecting its focus on advancing allogeneic, off-the-shelf CAR-T cell therapies for patients with blood cancers.

The financing will support the ongoing pivotal development of Soficabtagene Geleucel (Sofi-cel), an off-the-shelf CD7-targeted CAR-T therapy being evaluated for patients with relapsed or refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and T-cell lymphoblastic lymphoma (T-LBL), aggressive blood cancers with limited treatment options.

Blood Cancer United’s Therapy Acceleration Program® (TAP) participated as a new investor in the financing and has entered into a strategic partnership with Allotera. Through this collaboration, TAP will help support development efforts through scientific expertise, clinical development resources, patient education, and community engagement.

The Therapy Acceleration Program (TAP) is Blood Cancer United’s mission-driven, strategic venture philanthropy initiative that seeks to accelerate the development of innovative blood cancer therapies and change the standard of care, while also generating a return on investment to further its mission.

In February 2026, TAP made an equity investment in Allotera Therapeutics to support development of Sofi-cel for T-cell blood cancers, including pediatric patients. This investment reflects TAP’s commitment to improve treatment options and outcomes for both adults and children living with blood cancers through strategic collaboration.
