  Valentina age 8 ½
Leukemia Survivor

In December 2009, Valentina was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She had to endure intensive chemotherapy and countless blood and platelet transfusions. Her mother sat and watched but remained strong as the rest of her family sent their good thoughts from Ecuador. After two and a half years of treatment, Valentina was declared cancer free. Today, Valentina enjoys dancing and playing soccer.
