In 2018, our world changed with three words, “Seth has leukemia.”
He was just a little boy — full of energy, humor, and a light that filled every room. Suddenly, our days were filled with hospital stays, IV poles, lab results, and words no parent ever expects to learn.
Leukemia treatment is intense. It’s long. It’s overwhelming. And as parents, you quickly realize that knowledge becomes power. You want to understand every option. Every protocol. Every possible path forward.
That’s where Blood Cancer United stepped in.
During some of our hardest moments, after four relapses, they helped us research clinical trial options and better understand emerging treatments. When you’re navigating a blood cancer diagnosis, you don’t just want hope — you want informed hope. Blood Cancer United helped us feel empowered in conversations with Seth’s medical team. They gave us information, clarity, and confidence at a time when we desperately needed it.
In 2022, Seth became a Light The Night Ambassador for Blood Cancer United. Watching him carry that title was powerful. He wasn’t just a patient — he was a voice for other kids and families walking a similar road. He proudly shared his story, not because it was easy but because he wanted others to know they weren’t alone.
As of February 22, 2026, Seth has been in remission. That sentence still takes my breath away.
His journey has been one of resilience, faith, community, and relentless hope. There were hard days — days of fear, uncertainty, and exhaustion — but there were also days filled with laughter in hospital rooms, nurses who became family, and a little boy who refused to let cancer steal his joy.
Blood Cancer United was part of that journey. They helped us look beyond the immediate and understand the broader landscape of research and clinical trials. For families facing blood cancer, that kind of support matters more than words can express.
Today, Seth is thriving. He is proof that research matters. That advocacy matters. That community matters. And that hope — informed, educated, persistent hope — can carry a family through the unimaginable.
We are forever grateful.
