Halimeh is
Blood Cancer United

Halimeh, Leukemia survivor, photographed in hospital bed

On June 3, 2014, I went to my local hospital for blood work after noticing unexplained bruising and experiencing a nose bleed. That day changed my life forever.

I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). It was a scary journey and I did not know what to expect. I almost lost my life three times during my battle. Despite it all, I always tried to stay strong and think positive. Today, I am on the two-year maintenance phase and feel much better. I have gotten my energy back and went back to college to finish where I left off as an elementary education major.
