In 2025, at 24 years old, I was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The news came very suddenly. I was supposed to be entering my prime. I was finishing my last semester of graduate school and finally going to start my career as a speech-language pathologist. My life was turned upside down by my diagnosis. I went from working with patients to becoming one. A few weeks later, I graduated from my master’s program from my hospital bed. And a few months after that, I received a stem cell transplant. I am so grateful to my amazing team of doctors, family, and friends, and for the support of Blood Cancer United during this difficult time. I am eternally grateful for the second chance at life I have gotten!
