Lymphoma Survivor

A day before my 29th birthday, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma stage IV. No one expects a cancer diagnosis, especially when you’re young. It was a game changer for the rest of my life.

Lashi, a Chesterfield native, was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 2011 at 26 years old after discovering a lump under the left side of her chin. Luckily, her lymphoma was detected at an early stage. After going through painful radiation treatments and losing her hair, she received an all-clear report in March of 2012.

Hodgkin lymphoma

My journey started in 2002 with a lump in my right armpit. After a year of testing, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. I was 30 at the time. After 18 months of treatment, including radiation and 15 rounds of chemo, I was cleared in 2005 after two PET scans.
